breakfast & lunch cafe

About Us

On the Flipside Cafe' is the brainchild of brothers Brandon Bedard and Corey Elkins. Fueled by the desire to work for themselves, coupled with their combined passion for food, the brothers felt that even in these hard economic times, this venture was a risk worth taking. To get big rewards you have to take big risks.

Brandon was an employee of Publix for eight years. Working right out of high school advancing to grocery manager, along with the title and the nice salary came LONG hard hours. Hours away from his wife and young son.

Corey had worked since high school at several local restaurants focusing mainly on breakfast and lunch. A former employer once described him as "the best egg man in the business". (our eggs benedict are highly praised) Coming in a close second is our pancakes.

It was those pancakes that really started it all. The boys' uncle was visiting last January from Scotland along with nine of his family members. A five gallon bucket of pancake batter, several full bellies and two hours later, Brandon made the comment,"Bro, those are the best pancakes ever. We should open a restaurant." And so it began.

Securing the finances wouldn't be as easy as flipping pancakes. Opting for personal loans when business loans could not be obtained, the brothers began the long process of finding a site, purchasing equipment and filing for permits.

After six months of blood, sweat (alot of sweat) and tears (alot of tears) On the Flipside Cafe' opened to a welcoming community waiting for a family-owned, family oriented restaurant with good food and great service in the midst of cookie-cutter chains and fast food.

Claiming the mission statement, we promise to strive to serve the best food possible in such a way that the customer will feel as though they just had a meal in our home.
